Easter at the Market Fashion Event

Image
The Hotel Normandie was the venue for the very informal  Easter at the Market fashion event. Some of Trinidad's local designers showcased their most recent pieces as the models glided gracefully down the staircase of the hotel's lobby. These designers include Ecliff Elie, Delia Alleyne and Lisa See Tai.  The pieces shown ranged from silky pops of color to dark, geometric patterns. Here are some designs:  My time at the show was short, as I had other things to do that day.  However, it was definitely time well spent at a very picturesque location!

Style Crush - Bella Hadid

Image
Bella Hadid appeased the style gods in her stunning ensemble of a jumpsuit, tough leather jacket and lace up boots.  She was spotted wearing this while strutting out of Milk Studios a couple of weeks ago. The silky and  burgundy hued cropped jumpsuit contrasts smoothly with the structured leather jacket and boots.  Here's how to get Bella's look! The luxurious fabric and his airy wrap jumpsuit and sophisticated grey tone will be perfect for a day to night transformation.  It can be dressed up to look more formal or classy enough for casual evening plans. Add the jumpsuit to this embroidered jacket for a dazzling look.  It adds a wonderful pop of colour and glittery edge to the outfit. Finish with this tote bag to fit all your essentials, this can also seamlessly be taken from day to night. Cropped jumpsuit    £ 60 :   http://www...

Curls for a Cause natural hair event.

Image
I stumbled upon this event on my Facebook feed and since it was all about natural hair I decided to go. This 'Curls for a Cause' natural hair event was co - hosted by Cher - Mere Day Spa  and   6 Degrees of Napp .  The Cipriani Boulevard Cher - Mere branch was an ideal setting, as the venue's exterior was cool and breezy and lent to the evening's casual atmosphere. Guests were treated to samples and information on products. I thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment: spoken word poet Zakiya Gill was amazing. The creator of the Cher - Mere Herbal Personal Care Products Mrs Cheryl Bowles was also on hand to speak to guests about the Cher - Mere iNatural line. These products include the Conditioning Oil, Curling Butter, Leave - In Conditioning Creme and Conditioning Hair Refresher.

Be Free Foods Organic Grocery review.

Image
My journey to Be Free Foods Organic Grocery began when I decided to look for healthier food alternatives.  I wanted something to replace and my research led me to a product called nutritional yeast.  You can read a little about this product  here . I was finally directed to the store (in St James) and purchased four items instead of just the one that I was looking for.  The employees were friendly and one showed me around the store to find what I needed. 1.  Harvest Snaps Snapea crisps Fell in love with this on my last US visit.  Green and crunchy and yum.     2.  Red Mill Mung Heritage Beans. I could live on peas/beans and rice - sad but true.  Heard of mung beans so I will be trying to cook this soon. 3.  Bragg Nutritional Yeast Seasoning I've already tried this in a couple of dishes.  Here is a vegan mac n cheese recipe that uses nutritional yeast by  Jamie Oliv...

City Color Creamy Lips review: Bargain beauty

Image
I received this lip cream in an Ipsy monthly subscription bag. It has a light, sweet scent. I like the applicator, it allows you to apply the lip product properly to areas like your Cupid's bow. Shade: Mai Tai As for the consistency , it is creamy (hence the name) and soft to the touch after application. I swatched  the lip cream in the photo below, two coats on the left and one coat on the right. The two swatches look almost the same so this shows that you can only apply one coat for good coverage. Pros: I like the coverage of the lip cream, as well as its handy applicator. Its soft consistency is useful if you want to try an ombre lip with another lip cream or lipstick.  It blends easily with other products, as long as it is not a gloss. Cons:  This product always remains in a soft, creamy state on my lips.  Then it starts to wipe off if you eat or kiss.  It lasts for about 3 hours without reapplying. I would recommend this prod...

Soap mini - haul

Image
My name is Danielle and I am a soap - sniffer.   *hiii Danielle*    Maybe I should go look for a support group for this.  I enter a store.  I see soap,   I sniff. I really don't care who's watching me funny either.     So that is just what I was doing when I visited UWI's Agri Expo over the weekend. There were quite a few soap manufacturing companies so I decided to try from the following two places: Acacia Products Coco Dreams 1.  Acacia Products  I did not get the person's name but the young woman in this booth let me know about the different types of soaps available.  She also allowed me to sniff as much soap as I wanted, yayy! 2.  Coco Dreams Estate. I expected this soap to smell like cocoa butter but it smelt slightly fruity.  So I bought the cute chicken and egg shaped soap.
