I like painting from nature...

Hey, everyone.  I managed to get some photos of paintings that I completed during the past few weeks, so here goes:


The photo above is a still life painting of two dried coconuts and a very small cactus in a plant pot.  I decided to focus on warm colours on the coconuts and the pot, while I utilized cool colours in the background.



This is a representation of wild plants next to the edge of a stream.  I painted from a photograph that was taken on my last beach trip.  This painting contains mostly cool colours, with a bit of neutrals added.
This last painting evolved from an idea I got while looking at some of the moths that are usually seen around my workplace.  The green form in the upper left corner of the painting is a moth, while the yellow, orange and red form is a butterfly. Both forms are abstracted slightly.

I continue to practise painting different subjects and use different painting techniques.  These paintings are 9" x 12".  I will eventually start painting larger compositions.

 This year's awards show was held on Sunday in Los Angeles.  Word on the streets? Many outfits were less than flattering. We try our best not to use the G word over here.  However we saw many cute and stylish outfits, proudly worn by our ladies.   We managed to choose 5 gorgeous red carpet ensembles from BET's event. This dark dress with a flattering neckline managed to turn heads.  Applique was the name of the game for this short number. This dress was our personal favorite, body hugging and with a strategically placed slit. We would have preferred a less translucent look, but this fit was definitely worn with confidence. Review: Creme of Nature Shampoo, Hair Milk & Curl Enhancing Creme

                          I have to admit , these Creme of Nature products have been lifesavers for my hair!  Since I decided to buy these products just for the heck of it, I don't regret my purchases.  These have been my go-to products for a little over two months and I am totally satisfied with the results.     1.  Creme of Nature Moisture & Shine shampoo.  This sulfate - free product lathers up well and rinses out leaving hydrated, clean hair. 2.  Creme of Nature Leave - In Hair Milk.   I apply this after I condition my hair and also as a daily moisturiser. 3.  Creme of Nature Pudding Perfection Curl Enhancing Creme This is the last step in my hairdressing routine.  As the name states, its pudding - like consistency keeps my hair moist so it does not dry out and get crunchy.   The label says it can also be used with heat to stretch out curls but I try to keep heat - styling tools at bay as much as I can.
