Review: LA Colors Liquid Makeup Black Walnut

Image
I had already been using LA Girl Perfecting Liquid Makeup  and loved the versatility of its lightweight, smooth finish and easy application for daily work wear. Then I happened to spy the LA Colors brand on a trip to one of the local beauty stores and decided to try it. This product comes in a tapered plastic bottle, complete with a convenient pump.  It is lightly scented and this product can be a substitute for brown powder or can be worn under brown powder. I used it for a couple of weeks.  Its creamy consistency can be applied with a cosmetic wedge. Although it looked smooth on my face, a slightly oily sheen would appear after a couple hours of wear.  Then I would have to keep reapplying setting powder. I would have to recommend this product for persons with dry skin.

Review: LA Girl Perfecting Liquid makeup

Image
I bought this product at a local beauty store. This liquid makeup comes in an almost cylindrical shaped glass bottle with a pump. When applied, this product dries fairly quickly, after a few minutes. It is lightly scented, with a creamy consistency. This provides light to medium coverage. LA Girl Perfecting Liquid Makeup works well, even with my oily skin and warm temperatures. I like this product, use it regularly in my makeup routine for work.

Review: Thrive Causemetics Infinity waterproof eyeliner

Image
I got this product in my Ipsy  bag.  It retails for $US22 on Thrive Causemetics' website . The first thing I noticed was the brilliant color of the packaging: a gorgeous blue box and stick. The eyeliner stick also includes a tip that can be used to smudge or blend your lines. It has a slightly minty scent The liner glides on smoothly and has a matte finish. I decided to test the liner for long wear so the maximum time worn at one time was 11 hours. I live in a tropical climate and my main work area has no air conditioning unit.  Despite this, the liner stayed on, did not feather or smudge. It worked well during the sweaty times. I would recommend this product for its durability and easy application.  This may not be suitable for the high glam Instagrammy type of sharp, glossy eyeliner looks that a liquid eyeliner may give.

Promise Organic Ultra Moisturising Argan Creme Facial Lotion review

Image
I got this product earlier this year in my Ipsy bag and recently started using it for about a week. According to the information on the tube it is dermatologist tested and pH balanced, making it safe for persons with sensitive skin.  It is recommended for normal to dry skin. This facial lotion has a citrus scent and has a thinner consistency than the typical face cream.  When I first opened the tube to use it, some of the product fell out without me even having to squeeze the tube. The lotion seemed to be absorbed into the skin a couple minutes after application. The first time I tried it was at night; I saw and felt a difference by morning.  My skin didn't even feel over greasy, a result I had occasionally with some products. Promise Organics Facial lotion is available at CVS.

School is back in session! Well, at least for some of us.    If you are like me and still have a couple more weeks of vacation left, here are 10 must - buy items for Back to School: 1.  Calendar How else will you know when horrendous Miss Hendricks' homework assignments are due? That 'dog ate it' excuse can only work for so long, folks. 2.  Planner Keep yourself organised with projects, study sessions, chores and more.  Just jot down everything in your handy, shiny planner and you're all set.                                                        3.
