December beauty haul

Image
Picked up a few cosmetic items that I am hoping would help out my minor makeuppy issues:  1. MAC cosmetics Prep and Prime Fix+ A good friend of mine advised oh so long ago that I should try this product to set my makeup longer.  Especially at work, where we teachers have hot classrooms and my hot Art room.  I hope this helps. In addition, I looked at some YouTube videos and discovered that this can also be spritzed onto your makeup brush before you apply eye shadows.  They say it results in more vivid shadow pigments.  2. Revlon Brow Fantasy pencil and gel.   Strangely enough, I received an adequate pair of eyelashes naturally.  However, my eyebrows seem to be late bloomers. So I decided to give this product a try.  I can use the pencil to draw in parts of my brows, then use the gel to brush them in one direction. 3. Sacha mattifier face primer. I also got this primer to try out in my hot situations. 4.  Ruby Kisses 3D face creator .

Blogmas5: More decor, Christmas food prep and wrapping presents!

Image
The annual Christmas rush can be compared to a horse race: there is a mad dash from the open gates, lots of dust being kicked up, snorting and sweating until the frenzied animals arrive at the finish line.  The purchasing of presents, organizing food and meals, cleaning house.  Some may also decide to visit their houses of worship - yes we know Jesus is the reason for the season however we see more Christmas trees than creches.  This will not be a discussion about Christ vs consumerism, allyuh big enough and I am on vacation from teaching. However we decide to spend the Christmas season, let us be sure to spend with friends, family, alco(?) and good thoughts.  I will be honestly trying my best with the good thoughts thing. Merry Christmas to all! West Mall decorations. West Mall food! Trincity Mall decorations New curtains!  I sewed the ones on the right. This mop was a godsend. Mum discovered it at Home Express.   Mini Fru

Blogmas 3 - Pumpkin ponche de creme recipe!

Image
It's sometimes called 'pumpkin ponche de creme' or 'pump de creme'. Either way, it is simply an eggless version of the Trini Christmas favorite ponche de crΓ¨me. My mum introduced me to this eggless version some years back; now I love making this for the Yuletide season. You can get the pumpkin ponche de crΓ¨me recipe  here My Method I cut up my raw pumpkin into roughly one inch cubes. I gathered some of my ingredients seen below: I boiled the pumpkin until tender and left it to cool. Slapped everything into the blender until everything got smooth Added ice and said 'Cheers!' Christmas is almost here!  Stay tuned to see upcoming Blogmas posts! Salud!

Blogmas 2 - Shopping for home items! Home Land, Home Store & Home Express.

Image
My sis, mom and I checked out some home dΓ©cor stores to get some items for our places. We went to Home Land Furnishings and Fabric Land Store which is located in Piarco Plaza.  There was so much color, I had to snap some pics with my phone: Then we shuffled along to Home Express in Barataria The Home Store was our final stop. I was fiddling with the camera and I got this blurry effect. Some home purchases.

A tale of 3 soaps: Eco Truffles, Dudu-Osun and Mountain Rose reviews

Image
I'm a soap-lover. No, not just 'I love soap because it is necessary for hygiene'. It's more like 'a relaxing event after a long hot day where I can just get sudsy and bubbly while pondering on the meaning of life' kind of thing. Too much? Maybe. Over the last few months, I decided to try different types of soaps.  So I found some in a couple craft fairs and specialty stores. I will be reviewing 3 soaps in this post:  Eco-Truffles Mango Loufah Heaven, Tropical Naturals Dudu Osun black soap and Mountain Rose Bath and Body Treats' Peppermint Pop. 1.  Eco-Truffles Mango Loufah Heaven Eco-Truffles Lavish body treats provides natural products for the skin and hair.  The company is based in Trinidad and Tobago.  Some of their other products include facial masks, body butters and organic coconut oil. This soap had a slight mango scent - I was actually half-joking when I was thinking that I would smell like I had just eaten a ripe
